Must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2); must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of indoctrination with any necessary continuing education (CE) for certification
The scope of this contract relates to the management of NGA’s Research Labs across the US. The effort will provide both system administration for networks, servers, cloud and audio/visual devices and security engineering support services to include architecture documentation and testing.

Performs systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. System management responsibilities involves account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
Configures and manages UNIX/Linux operating systems
Installs/loads operating system and application software
Isolates and resolves hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof
Troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Integrates new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems
Demonstrated experience working with Linux (CentOS and Red Hat) and some or all of the following: Microsoft Windows (Server and Workstation), Amazon Web Services (AWS), databases (Oracle, MySQL), web services, internet protocols, Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems
Exceptional computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms
A basic understanding of UNIX files structure and capabilities
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g. information systems, computer science, math, or engineering) and eight (8) years of relevant technical experience
